Three weeks plus without a proper update. And it still feels too soon.
As your editor’s digestive system finally gets back to normal (while I enjoyed both HK and Japan, especially the latter, I wouldn’t rush back to either of them. And it made me realise just how far Australia is), the big news within the last 24 hours has been us finally making a signing.
Tomorrow being Weds 11th June. And more likely that one.

The youngsters did pretty well last night at Imber Court (even if the Met could have had a penalty in the last minute), and for once these sort of fixtures did what we should be doing.
And you can now breathe a sigh of relief.
No more ruined weekends for a good while. No more angst over yet another display of negative tactics, crap forward lines and constantly going behind.
You can have your Saturday evenings back now. Not to mention your bank balance.
You may see a couple of designs come up here in the next day or two – this is open to see if you like/hate…
After a spectacular bit of timing, along with at least two false dawns and a lot of emails over the Irish Sea to boot, SW19 is back.
I can sense your disappointment in reading that.
The next few paragraphs are technogeek masturbation material, so if you’re not that way inclined, just skim over until I give you the all-clear to start reading again…
After sleeping on it overnight, and presumably waiting for the cleaners to finally mop the blood from the carpet, the club has finally issued its long awaited statement on this whole episode.
Read it? Good. There may be questions later.
So, we’ve finally found out our fate – three points deducted and a fine of £5k that is suspended.
Plus costs, which given the price of tea and biscuits these days means we’ll be short of £100k.
While we await the more detailed description of what happened, my initial thoughts : we pretty much got away with that. Previous clubs who have been done for this sort of thing (mainly Hereford) have had the points and £10k taken away.
It’s never easy, is it? Here we were, all nice and safe and secure for the rest of the season, and then this happens.
And suddenly it goes to shit again.
There had to be a twist in the tale of this season after all, and your editor wish he hadn’t joked about this sort of thing happening in the bogs after yesterday. It would be so funny if it didn’t leave such a bad taste in the mouth.
